NTT DATA’s mobile offering, NTT Extend for Microsoft Teams, enables businesses to optimize employee collaboration and productivity on mobile phones.

We’re excited to be joined by Charlie Doubek, Global VP – Managed Collaboration and Communications at NTT DATA at Commsverse in the UK next week to highlight this innovational addition to the NTT DATA enterprise communications portfolio.

Commsverse is dedicated to the latest product & market trends in the Microsoft Teams ecosystem and more information on it can be found here:

NTT DATA launched NTT Extend, enabling clients to connect not only frontline workers, but also on-the-go and remote knowledge workers into their Unified Communications systems.

NTT DATA is a trusted global innovator of IT and business services, helps clients transform through consulting, industry solutions, business process services, IT modernization, and managed services.

NTT Extend for Microsoft Teams has enabled customers to optimize employee collaboration and productivity on mobile phones. NTT Extend uses Operator Connect to allow Teams Phone users to make secure work calls natively from their own devices. Calls are routed through Teams and use the workers’ existing Teams numbers to make and receive calls from any mobile phone.

Clients have found that their workers’ freedom to use their existing Teams DID number on their personal mobile phone - without any special steps or apps - helps to bring remote workers closer to their colleagues and customers and makes them feel more engaged with their business. Their IT managers like the fast eSIM provisioning, management of the mobile service and the fact that it can reduce communications costs and their carbon footprint.

NTT DATA showcased the NTT Extend solution at Mobile World Congress earlier this year and noted some of the key benefits in its fact sheet:

  • Compliance, security and speed of deployment
  • A unique business phone number for each user
  • A unique call plan with cellular and landline calling
  • Emergency calls routing (including Dynamic e911 for US and Canada)
  • Number porting and new number ordering
  • 99.99% SLA
  • Continuous quality of experience monitoring

As part of the launch of NTT Extend for Microsoft Teams, Hugues Treguier, Vice President of Product Marketing and Go-to-Market at NTT, wrote, “Working with Tango Networks, a technology provider in the Microsoft ecosystem, we have created an innovative mobile gateway called NTT Extend that integrates directly with  Teams Phone to provide seamless connectivity via Operator Connect.

“On an employee’s mobile phone, NTT Extend is implemented through an eSIM that enables the phone to receive and make Teams calls via its native calling interface, just like regular mobile calls. The number used is an ‘office number’ – like the traditional landline number that would ring on a desk phone.”
