The Silicon Review has named Tango Networks to its list of 50 Innovative Companies to Watch for 2017.

Describing the explosion of mobile devices in today’s corporate environments, the publication’s editors said Tango Networks’ products address a fundamental need for better control over the communications applications used on these devices.

“For mobile devices, companies had been forced to give up control and visibility to external mobile service providers, creating expensive management and regulatory headaches,” the editors wrote. “Douglas Bartek and Andrew Silver decided to address this problem and that is why they co-founded Tango Networks over a decade ago.”

The publication described the first implementations of Tango’s products, aimed at connecting Sprint mobile devices to a company’s communications systems. The solution was successful and very well received, proving the market for solutions that bring corporate IT better visibility and more expansive control over the communications applications used by their employees.

“The uniqueness of the solution is that the user interface was the native phone dialer - not a separate application - so there was no end user learning curve necessary to utilize the service,” the editors wrote.

That early solution eventually evolved into the Kinetic Communications Platform from Tango Networks.

And the same basic principle – of simplifying mobility and delivering a superior user experience – holds true in the latest versions of the company’s solutions.

The Silicon Review article cites three of the Kinetic platform’s capabilities along those lines:

  1. Rich UC features on mobile devices, such as short-code dialing and conferencing, to truly empower the mobile workforce.
  2. Identity management to ensure business calls are identified as such, while personal calls remain private.
  3. Superior compliance and policy enforcement, even on personal devices in a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program.

The profile of the company in the publication highlights the keys to the success over the years, identifying first and foremost the dedicated innovators and business professionals who make up the Tango team.

“From generating the far-reaching ideas that lead to new business propositions, to the technical resources that help turn the ideas into reality, to the personal engagements needed to open the right doors to opportunity - people are clearly the most important asset,” the profile says.
